HI ALL,

I HAVE A PROJECT TO MEASURE DISTANCE IN A ROBOT THAT USE INDUCTIVE SENSORS FOR ENCODERS.
AND THE ROBOT IS REMOTELY CONTROLLABLE.(THAT PART IS ALREADY DONE,)

MY PROBLEM IS TO GET THE DISTANCE ROBOT TRAVELED USING ENCODERS,

I NEED TO CONSIDER ABOUT THE TURNING PART AS WELL.

THANKS FOR ANY IDEA!!

Hi Friend

what all things you tried?
i think you use two encoders if you want to measure the turning parts
else you connect the encoder to the wheel of the robot, calibrate that for 1 rotation
in distance. now start counting the distance
what are the problems that you are facing?
please post it then only anyone can help you

regards

thanks for your reply.

i connect an encoder wheel to the rotating shaft of the wheel, and using the inductive sensor i get the pulses when shaft rotates.

problem is writing the algo when the robot turns left /right.And the accuracy is a major concern in this project.

and the other doubt is do i need to use a timer for counting or just use a variable that is incremented
with the pulses.

Thanks for any idea!!
