power efficiency in an amplifier circuit

hye guys,

I'm builiding an amplifier circuit using resistors and OPAMP(LM741). I already got everything about it, but I'm also asked to waste as little power as possible. Is there any solution for this. It seems like a very stupid question. I'm new to designing analog circuit.

Thanks in advance for any help.
 

If you want to save minimise power then don't use the LM741. If the problem is "don't waste power even with the LM741" then usually it will involve trying to use the largest resistor values possible while still making sure the circuit works.

I should use the LM741. It is the requirement. The purpose is not to make a fully power efficient circuit, but it only want to reduce the power consumption. Got any idea on how to do it? Thanks

As I said - keep resistor values high. If you want a gain of 10 you could use 10k & 1k - use 100k & 10k instead, for example.

sorry keith, I forgot to mention that the value of resistor that is allowed to use is 20 ohm
