How to check a used RAM piece is working properly or not ???

Hi guys,

I have a 64 MB SDRAM.Now i want to buy another 128 MB SDRAM but want to go for a used piece.But how can i know whether the RAM piece is properly working or not?I heard there are some benchmarking softwares whic stresses on the complete capacity of the RAM and telll us if there are any fault sectors( I dont know if RAM have sectors like the way Hard Disk have sectors).Please help me.

Yes, there are some programs available to test the memory in your PC.

Normally Bios does some chjeck on ram and show the available RAM at boting time. in addition Linex does the same. if your are windows user then you can check system availbe ram. benchmark softwares are only to verfy the speed of the RAM. there are several of them at www.download.com
