Hi,

how to add a resistor to microstrip patch antenna in Ansift designer ? should I add a via and then assign a load to this via ????

please help

Hello, Anybody there !

Hi,

how to add a Capicitor to loop antenna in Ansoft designer ? should I add a via and then assign a load to this via or assign gap source..which always show that the S11 greater than 1 when not refenced

please help

Re: How to Add resistor to microstip antenna in Ansoft desig

Hi,

I think we are both interested in the same topic. I was thinking to add Via and assign imaginary load t this via ?

I am not 100% sure if its correct ?

any one can help us ?

Between which two points do u want 2 add the resistor?

Re: How to Add resistor to microstip antenna in Ansoft desig

The resistor should be added between the inster patch antenna and the ground plane ?

Select the upper layer and click on via. now click on the location where you want to add the resistor. now in the left hand panel expand the Model tree then expand Via tree. in the expanded via tree find the name of the newly added via and double click on it. click on upper layer tab. in the upper layer option select the upper layer (patch in your case) and excitation/ load type as no load. then click on lower layer tab. in the lower layer option select your lower layer (ground in your case). In excitation /load type option select complex. in the complex load option select the value of your resistor in the real box and enter zero in the complex box. and then press ok. I hope this will work for you otherwise you may try other optiions available under the same option.

How to add chip resistor in microstrip antenna (which is to short ground plane and patch) in ADS?????
Thanks

Draw a resistive sheet in layout (layer resi) and include it in your Momentum substrate definition, with the correspoding ohm/square sheet resistance.

You can also use the TFR element if you prefer to auto-generate the sheet resistor layout. Always make sure that layer resi is properly included in the Momentum substrate defintion.

The actual layout layer def is :

Free space
----STRIP-cond
Alumina
//////GND/////

In this, i want to add a chip resistor shorting the strip and gnd at a particular position. Dont understand where to add 'resi layer'.
Kindly tell me if i am lagging somewhere
