Hi, I have a simple question about the input matching of RF amplifier.
If the amplifier has medium gain (about 15 dB), but bad input matching (about -3 dB), what is the impact of it to the whole RF system?
Since about half of the power is reflected back to the input path, does the bad input matching increase the RF coupling, and reduce the system stability?
But if the previous stage of the amplifier is a variable attenuator with good output matching, since most of the reflected power will be absorbed by the attenuator, it will help to reduce the bad impact of the amplifier?
