Working on a diy jtag, for the target board voltage, which one the most common one?

A: 1.2-3.6v
B: 1.4-5.0V
C: 1.8-5.0V

Will A be sufficient?

If not, can anyone suggest a translator can do B? or even better, 1.2v-5.0v?

Thanks

I would go with A, because few modern JTAG targets run on +5V.

... or B. Since this your JTAG programmer is DIY, it will appeal to hobbyists. There's a couple of CPLD families that work on +5V. They are liked by hobby audience.

Looks like these guys went for the option B: .

Thank you kender and bepobalote.

So I guess if I use SN74AVC8T245 and clamp the Vref to 3.6V with pull ups , so it will make it works with 1.2v-5v?

Can you share the schematic with me ?

I'm interested on a DIY JTAG interface as well.

Hi, I am still planning it...

Ok, let me know when you have something, maybe we can work together, e.g. I can design the pcb and have it build profesionally or something else.

Let me know.

Regards.
