hi

@nsoft desinger draws the radiation pattern in polar plot. how I can convert into rectangular plot ????

Thank you .

Re: ansoft designer

in the Create Report message box,

select Report Type = Farfield and Display Type = Rectangular Plot
...

Then select:

Gain -> GainInput -> dB (if you want your plot in dB)

and Add Trace to complete the operation.
You'll get your Gain pattern in rectangular plot as requested :)

hope this helps.

Re: ansoft designer

Thank you mogwai

I work on only one frequency, I succeeded in having Gain pattern in rectangular plot , but theta between (-76, +76 deg) how to return it (-180, +180) deg. I did not find how to widen theta.
Another thing, I have two graphs: phi 0 deg and phi 90 deg: I want only one (phi 0deg) .
I want to have a table for transported the points on matlab.

Thank you

Re: ansoft designer

1) You get theta points from -76 to 76 degrees is a matter of scaling. There are no values in other theta and the plot is autoscaled. you can get a -180,180deg plot by changing the scaling properties:

Double click on X Axis (theta) and select Rescale -> Manual scaling...

2) To remove the phi 90 plot, right click on your rectangular plot and select Modify Report. Then do the following:

Select Sweeps -> double click on the "phi point(s)" option to enable it -> uncheck the "All Values" checkbox from your right -> and select the 0deg for the phi plot...

3) To create a table with datapoints for Matlab, create a new report and select "Farfield" as a report type and "Data Table" for Display Type.
All other options are as before. You will end up with a table having your datapoints...

cheers!

Re: ansoft designer

Hi ,

I have another question, I have a design on circuit design, is what I can the transferer to Planar EM design .

Thank you .

Re: ansoft designer

Click on Circuit Menu -> Add Subcircuit -> Add PlanarEM Design...

You 'll end up with a planarEM project embedded in your Circuit Project...
If you open this EM project, you'll see the layout of your original circuit..

hope this helps :)
