I've written a program in JavaME that at its conclusion, sends a sms text message that will instruct the SERVO motors on how long to run for. My plan was to send the SMS message to a GSM terminal, connected to a microcontroller that will interpret it then pass on the commands to Servo motors.

I haven't bought any microcontroller/gsm terminal/servo motors as of now, so any recommendations will also be greatly appreciated.

But is this possible? Can an SMS text message control SERVO motors?
If so, how can I accomplish this? What microcontroller/gsm can make it simpler?

Any alternative methods will be great too.
