Hi All, I am here with some query.
I want to make a digital Body Mass Index scale. Which i can make by entering the height manually. But the Problem is that I have to measure it by using ultrasonic or infrared sensors.
Does anybody knows how to do this???
Any kind of help is welcomed..

Regards
Mandar

Do like this..
Just use a stick or a piece of card board or anything...

Actually it is done opposite way. The ultarsonic transducers are fitted at 6.5 feet which naturally comes over the head of the person and the platform is set as the reference distance in the source code. If a person measuring 4 feet stands below the Transducer, the reflection received back is of 2.5 feet from the persons head. Thus this result is deducted from the reference hieght set, and 4.00 is displayed. Cheers

It is indeed very helpful, but the idea is still not clear in my mind.
1) Which type of sensors to be used ?
2) How do i will know that the reflected light is from 4ft, means will it be millivolts on which i has to process or what????
I am not able to visualise this concept as that of pressure, temp, strain-guage Transducers.

use these type of sensors.

Ans 1: Yes..."garg" ji is right. For ultrasonic measurement you may use the said transducers.

Ans 2: It is clearly given in my last post. Yes it will be in millivolts in proportion to the reflected waves.
Cheers
