i have made the 15v 1amp power supply.but i get only 206ma current from it. can u please help me how to increase current in it? i have used 12-0-12 1a transformer to get the current but there is no change in it.plz reply me soon.

A schematic would be useful.

However, if you are putting 12V in you shouldn't expect 15V out, especially if you have a regulator circuit in the middle.

With 12 - 0 - 12 V AC Transformer you can get nearly 17 V DC and it is possible to get 15 V DC regulated from 7815 buth this is not a wise approach, a preferable approach could be to use 18-0-18 or higher transformer with a rating little higher than needed.
One important thing in using such regulators is to avoide High capacity across reason being, in the initial charging stages it draws huge surge current derating the performance of regulator (at times resulting in failure). It is important to include a 10 nf as a regular practice in addition to an electrolytic like 5 - 22 uF.
Another thing is what load you are connecting, are you measuring shortcircuit current?

That would be true if you rectify with just two diodes, using the center tap.

The schematic shows a 24V transformer with no current rating. If it is powerful then it makes 32VDC at the input to the regulator.

Maybe the regulator has a heatsink too small and was so hot it was nearly shutting down.

I wonder why nobody bothered asking transformer current rating OP is using!!

If you have 500mA transformer there is no way you get 1A out of it.

The very first post shows 12-0-12 V 1 a transformer. So that part is taken care, may be he is connecting a load that can not draw more current than shown. In that case whole discussion becomes voide.
