bootloader

can any body tell me what r bootloader
for what purpose these use?

Re: bootloader

The boot loader is a bootstrap loader that, once programmed into a microcontroller's boot-block memory area, allows reprogramming of the microcontroller without need for a chip programmer.

Th boot loader makes use of the self-programming features of the microcontrollers to allow in-circuit reprogramming. Once the boot loader BL is programmed into the microcontroller, it remains resident until the chip is erased.

As an example one can download through an application program an Intel® formatted “.hex” file to the microcontroller from a PC serial communication port.
