AWR ultra wide band

hello
i m designing ultra wideband antenna using partial ground plane in AWR v8.03 but after making another layer for grnd plane, it takes a long time to simulate. i think i m not doing in the right way so please help me out. i m using MWO for the first time plz help me out. i m uploading my AWR file. thanks for the help.

Re: AWR ultra wide band

Hello,

I modified your MWO project file for UWB antenna design to model correctly,
The same is attached...(see the plot of patch_1_1 structure)...

Basically I have moved the box walls away from the structure & then added a via port excitation from bottom ground plane...

Also if you have good Memory on your machine you can still increase the box size of X& Y & keep the Antenna structure in middle...

Now you can see Wideband S11!!!

Re: AWR ultra wide band

thankyou manju for ur help
but i have a question. I want to use subtrate of area (30 *35) but use 100*100 so is there any way to use substrate of my dimensions . if not then why? waiting for ur reply

Re: AWR ultra wide band

Hello zeeshanqam,

I haven't changed the substrate dimensions, I have just set the Enclosure side walls away from the structure by increasing the X & Y dimension...

This incresing in dimension or change in substrate size in planar 3D EM tools has little effect or no effect on the performance of the antenna as 3D planar MOM tools won't mesh the dielectric...
