12bit sar adc 1uw

I need some help to choose a low power CMOS ADC to meet the following requirments

Resolution: 16 bits, (< 0.5LSB, DNL and INL)
Max. Signal Frequency: 100Hz
Input: Differential 2V p-p
Output: I2C serial digital
Power Supply: 3V +/- 20%
Process: ~ 0.5um CMOS (via MOSIS)
Standby Power: < 1uW
Active Power: < 100uW
Area: < 1mm*1mm
Temp Range: 0-40C

ThankX

need help for ADC design

I think the sigma-Delta ADC is suit your specific

Re: need help for ADC design

SAR ADC may be more suitable

Re: need help for ADC design

Sigma delta or integration.
See the attached article for adc type selection.

no

SAR R2R only for 8bit ( resistor /switch mismatch issue)
Cap charge share -> 10bit

if SAR use > 12bit use R_string + Cap

for low freq < 1K

I think you can use

dual slow or delta_sigma

Re: need help for ADC design

Hi
Can someone suggest some reference material for either SAR or sigma delta architectures

Re: need help for ADC design

This is for you reference .

Re: need help for ADC design

hi
Would it be a good idea to use Switched opams for ultra low power and use algorithmic ADCs. if so can i get some material that describes the concepts for both swithched opamp and algorithmic ADC's.
when do we need to use Switched capacitor circuits ? are they low power designs?

Thanks for the Thesis Friend
