how to calculate torque from strain

Hi Everyone,

For past couple of weeks, I ran into a problem of getting a torque value at low strains. Actually, what I am doing is that I am applying a pressure or force on thick elastic compound while rotating the lower die to and forth using high precision motors. There is a transducer above the top die in order to read torque values.

Now, for high strain values (> 0.2 arc), I am getting good torque values but when I go at lower strain (e.g. 0.01 arc), I am getting nothing even if I amplify the signal. Now, I am suspecting the transducer is not working fine.

Any help will be highly appreciated?

Regards.
