sim300 gprs communications

Hi,
I have a product that has RS232 connection between PC and Microcontroller based product. I want to eliminate the RS232 cable, and use SIM300 modules at both ends using GPRS.
Can anybody guide me to achieve this? Any links to AppNotes, info, etc will be helpful.

Thanks

You need to connect your Micro controller's serial port to SIM 300 Rx and Tx pins which is currently connected with Max 232. You need to take care of the source voltage and current rating for SIM 300 GPRS Module.

using gprs for communication

Thanks s.kesavan for your reply.

Voltages and hardware has been taken care of. My worry is:

Which are the AT commands (and in what sequence) are to be used to acieve this task.

I have also posted this query on one of my favourite forum:

The FAQ on this page will help you make a GPRS conneciton using the SIM300/340: **broken link removed**. You can also download the SIM TCP/IP manual which describes how to set your radio to act as a server:**broken link removed**

Note that to connect 2 GSM radios, you will need a service plan that allows you to accept incoming connecitons.

Hello smallF,
I connected the Rx, Tx, Ground pins of the sim300 EVB with the Tx,Rx, Ground pins of the pic16f877(using easypic6 development board) and i managed to send data(AT commands to the module) from pic microcontroller to sim300. The problem is that pic microcontroller can not receive any data from the sim300. Is there any other specific connection between serial pins that must be done in order to receive data? What do you mean by "source voltage and current rating for SIM 300 GPRS Module"?

Thks,
ZZ

Yes i grounded the RTS pin on the SIM300 but nothing happened.
