Hello,

I am trying to emulate the results for EBG structures for a number of cases (see papers attached)

[1] Junho Yeo, Ji-Fu Ma, and Raj Mittra - GA-BASED DESIGN OF ARTIFICIAL MAGNETIC GROUND PLANES (AMGS) UTILIZING FREQUENCY-SELECTIVE SURFACES FOR BANDWIDTH ENHANCEMENT OF MICROSTRIP ANTENNAS.pdf (Figure 2b)

[2] S.Best & D.Hanna - Design of a Broadband Dipole in Close Proximity to an EBG Ground Plane.pdf (figure 2)

Please see attached the two appropriate HFSS project files.

Unfortunately, none of my analysis results are close to the published results: [1] almost no connection between my analysis and published results [2] the frequency when the reflection coefficient is zero is much higher than the one mentioned in the publication.
The project files attached were checked for geometry and found OK, convergence was achieved.
The observation plane for both is the plane of the mushroom.

Please advise

Thanks

i think your master/slave boundries are error.
the U and V vectors of master/slave surfaces must be the same.
