GSM module, plc side modem

gsm modem and plc

GUys i need to communicate a plc with a modem. the tasks are as below.

1. plc controls and automates a filer plant.
2. communicate with the modem.
3. the modem logs data to a central server and at the rtu itself.
4. the modem sends alarms also.

plz help me out.

there must be some standard PLC compatible modem cards available. What PLC are you using ??
 

plc side modem

If your PLC supports a RS232, then you can control the GSM modem listed here.

The mentioned terminals supports the bearers:
- SMS, voice, fax, data by CSD (circuit switched data)
You also can use IP based services like TCP/IP and UDP/IP by At commands because the IP protocol stack is already in the terminal included.
Last but not least the terminal supports an email client and HTTP request to server.
