atmega32 programmer

i want a programmer and programming software to burn hex file in atmega32. i am using vistax64 OS. I dont have parallel port but i have usb to serial converter.
please help me......[/b]

serial programmer for atmega32

The USB to serial converter can be used with Ponyprog: ... but i heard from many people that using a converter the chip programming is very slow compared to a serial port, depends also on the converter chip.

Better use these programmers + AVRDUDE + GUI:

https://www.fischl.de/usbasp/
https://www.ladyada.net/make/usbtinyisp/

The problem is you first need to program once the uC in the programmer, but I think you can find an old PC with serial port for this.

The serial programmer from www.lancos.com which can be used with Ponyprog will not run by a usb-serial converter as these programmers do not use the standard RS232 protocol. To program a AVR its better to go for a usb programmer. The cheapest and most reliable solution. You can find one from shop.extremeelectronics.co.in for about rs 350/- note: Be sure to check compatibility with vista 64 bit..cheerz

Hi,
I use the TOP2005 programmer which uses the USB port directly and can program almost all the AVRs, plus many other chips, like the PIC microcontrollers and others.
Hope this helped.

A simple and working programmer for Atmega32 ,builded and tested yesterday from me.

Personal i used BC547 instead of BC846.

This is ISp programmer ,what mean you have need tu use power from Your Board.

I hope this will help.
Software for use with this programmer is Ponyprog.

I`m not sure if work with usb to serial converter but is very simple and easy to try.

I don't like TOP2005 because it does't support 16bit,32bit,18F series PIC controllers.
