ft245bm

Hello,

I am developing a board which consist of these two IC's. I do not know which brand of Crystals Oscillator to buy? I know the setup for the FTDI chip needs a 6MHz crystal with 2 capacitors and the MicroChip needs a 20MHz Crystal Oscillator with 2 capacitors. How would i know the Current Supply, Frequency Stability, Series and Supply Voltage?

Please your knowledge is greatly needed. Thank You

fpga with ftdi

you can get from the datasheets of both FT245 and PIC the power consumption ad/or current consumption, also you can connect the circuit and make some current measurements and I prefer this method.
Concerning crystals, I think the range of frequency your circuit work on isn't huge to have a stability issues with it, i used USB and PIC with 20MHz crystal and didn't face serious issues, so go ahead.

Good luck :)

Hello,

What brand of Crystals or Part Number? I've view the datasheets but it doesnt tell what kind of manufacture....

Thank You for the reply

I think any crystal will work, usually i don't buy a specific crystal by part number, any crystal and couple of load capacitors suitable to it will be fine.
