Hi, guys
I met a weired problem on post layout simulation by hsim. The logic function of simulation result is totally right, but the current is surprisely huge(hundreds times bigger than expected). The simulation use dspf file from Astro, and BSIM4 model for 65nm technology.
Has anyone met such a problem, pls help!!

lib should has no problem, I also did simulation by netlist file, the result is pretty reasonable

For HSIM acuracy is very very sensitive, check following parameters in ur test bench.

3. Recomended HSIM parameters -

.param HSIMOUTPUT=fsdb
.param HSIMVDD= 2.5 $Lowest power supply
.param HSIMOUTPUTFLUSH=2e-7
.param HSIMREDEFSUB=1
.param HSIMSPEED= 5
.param HSIMSPICE=1
.param HSIMALLOWEDDV=0.1 $ Max it can be VDD*0.1 ( smallest value, more accurate sims)
.param HSIMANALOG=1 $Play by putting it to 3 if it is not able to conver then decrise it to 2 to 1

other recomended options
.param HSIMSTEADYCURRENT=1e-15 $leakage current

I'm having the same problem too; any ideas on this?

I consider myself to be a pretty advanced HSIM user; I've been through the manual cover-to-cover more than once and tried most of the options. But I'd only been using it for functional verification (i.e. voltages) and this is my first time attempting to do power analysis with it. The results I'm getting are way, way, way off… massively higher than anything that makes sense.

Is this just a known problem with HSIM -- that it produces fast voltage-accurate simulations if you tune it right, but the current numbers are total junk?

quantized,

I think this is because DC convergence was is crude. In this case dynamic simulation and delays are OK but current is quite large.
I do not remember accurately but there is option to increase accuracy of DC convergense in HSIM.
