RS 232

Hello friend I am new to Micro controller
I have desinged just two project of µc

now I want to make a cicuit to program internal roms of µc
so which rs232 and µc ICs should I used
can I use the 89c51rd2 ic
please help me

Re: RS 232

ahmedebeed555 your schematic is missing a few things, resistor on the led, 0.1uF decoupling caps or crystal caps and the reset switch will simply short circuit the power supply.

I guess you can start with the PIC 16F84A. It is so simple. And the programming circuit is so easy to builld.

You can find out more on my blog :

Hi

I will be not so proud of the site which contains bull….. and show the bad things which no one should follow.

you need to better have all your works done with Microchip PIC devices as support is better.
you need a programmer hardware. you can have PICKIT2 from Microchip of have a clone of that (JUNEBUG) with additional facilities like tutor etc using PIC18F1320,
this sold as kit or assembles by www.blueroomelectronics.com of canada
you can place an on line order.

Re: RS 232

yes you can use 89c51rd2 controller for communicatoion with pc
you just need another rs232 logic converter ic to convert the rs232 electrical logic to ttl logic
there are many rs232 ic's like max232
just connect the rxd pin of the uc with txd of computer
and txd with rxd of computer i.e. u need a cross cable
set the baud rate and you can communicate between controller and system easily.

Re: RS 232

and using Atmel's Flip makes code file transfer a breeze

Re: RS 232

Hi amogh4321,
Go to Oshosoft site and there you will find very good parallel port Pic programmer. I find it very useful and you can get a good simulator also. Or, you can use Pickit2 from Microchip. Thanks.

Re: RS 232

thankz friend
actually I want to designe a board on which most of the XX51 controller should be get programed using serial port (rs232) of computer and using flash magic software.

I enjoy your joke. LoL !! the pension I get from the department I worked for is enough for me. No more interested in doing any commission business. I would suggest that you try out a JUNEBUG board and if you sell them, in your country, at least your country's studentship or hobbyists would be benefited, leave alone the commission that Bill could pay to you , if you need !!!

I am using one such unit. SO, I speak from my experience. My interest is only in the comfort of using through hole components based device, and incidentally the JUNEBUG provides for a portion of board for learning. even if you use 16F688 or 16F88, perhaps one could write few programs.
