Hi all,

does altium has the option of board partitioning (as it is in allegro) so that multiple designers can work on same pcb simultaneuosly.
I am using altium 6.9.

No, there's no special function in AD for partitioning. Usually when AD users want to do this sort of thing, they divide the board in half or in quarters. The lead designer decides how the circuitry is to be modularized, and each designer then works on his part as a separate PCB project. The lead designer then takes the results and uses copy/paste into the final project. The pieces are then joined by the lead designer.

The other way is to select components, create a 'ROOM' from the selected components and then have each designer work in assigned rooms.
