Hi All,
I have an application which runs on 12V battery supply taken from automobiles. Some vehicles have 24V DC supply. I want to make my application compatible with 12V or 24V input. How can I do it?. I am planning to use a DC-DC converted at the input side. Is this OK ? or there is a better solution for this. Your suggestions welcome.
Regards,

you can go with some powerint Linkswitch type application for DC to DC convertor which will operate from 10V to 26V.

Just use a buck convertor fed from a PWM. Sample the voltage at the output of the buck convertor and feed it back to the PWM to keep stable. It is very easy to do this with a PIC microcontroller that has both a PWM and ADC built in.

You can made cheap circuit using LM 317 to convert your output to 12 volt
