what is the function of can transceiver

CAN = Computer Automotive Network
Used for communication between car component modules. Slow speed, short distance communication very noise tolerant for hostile enviroments. Specially developed for automotive data communication.

Transceiver, Transmitter, Receiver. The CAN bus is a low voltage differential signalling system, LVDS, the interface to the micro is digital I/O.
The transceiver converts one to the other.
