Cavity modes

Hello all,

I ran a small simulation (in CST) in order to find the eigenmodes of some circular resonator. I obviously got many different modes (theoretically resulting from Bessel functions), but one of them grabed my attention, as it seemed like it has turbulances of the E field, which is of-course not possible in Vacuum (which was the surrounding material).

I attached the pictures here, and if one of you can explain this phenomena…

Thanks,

Re: Cavity modes

That "phenomena" would be the TE021 mode, no?

Edit:

Oops, make that the TE012 mode.

Re: Cavity modes

Hi.

Indeed this is the TE012 mode, and I am also confused like Itzikhaim with his question. How do you explain the turbulancy of the electric field?

Amit

What, precisely, is so confusing about the CST field plot of the TE012 mode in this resonator? And what exactly do you mean by "turbulancy of the electric field"?
