interfacing printer epson V42 with microcontroller

i have to interface a small printer named epson V42 with pic .can u plz send the circuit diagram and other important things that should be taken into account while interfacing . also i need to know how could i enter charecter (either ascii or other format) to the printerer .do u have any other better printer available for my purpose
