mcs to bit

Hi All,

I need to know how JTAG convert mcs hex file into JTAG bit stream. JTAG bit stream will be depend on the device which we use. How can we configure the PROM through software (we have access of JTAG interface).

Thanks,
Appu

mcs hex

Have you got any solution .. ?
I am also looking forward for the same ...
Every company has its own software to download the bit stream to FPGA or PROM.
In case of Diligent USB JTAG the software is used to convert the bit file to Intel Hex Format.
I am searching material for USB JTAG design and necessary dll files.
Can anybody have some idea ... ? ...

Hi lavesh,

I dint get any answer till now. Still I am searching for it. Can we share our findings so that we can make it. I got some XApp notes. I gone through it but I found it not so helpful. I will give u the XApp note details. XApp 1053, 975, 500, 424, 058. If I get anything I will let u know.

Thanks,

mcs file conversion

Vendors are using different methods to implement device programming within IEEE standard JTAG interface. It's recommended, that the respective JTAG commands (scan codes) are documented in BSDL (boundary scan description language) files. Apart from programming tools using specific hardware, most vendors supply code examples for embedded JTAG applications, e. g. to use the JTAG interface from an embedded uP for device programming. They can be a guide for performing JTAG programming through generic hardware, e. g. FTDI USB-to-JTAG converter.
