ATMEL 89S8253 Programmer help

89s8253 programmer

Hi, I´m trying to program my atmel 89s8253 but i´m having problems :/
I am using ponny prog

for the base board and
http://www.lancos.com/e2p/at89s.gif
for the connections to atmel ic but when I try to programm it ponny prog give an error: device not responding :/
Is there any difference in programming between 89s8253 and the 89s8252, they have the same isp programming right?

Any help?

89s8253

53 has different signature and you can't use 52 option to program it ..

The best option is to use ATMEL ISP Software provided by Atmel and here you will find detailed description of the whole "thing" ..
