Ground loop in RF

Hi,

I need some information ( Application notes, book reference, article) about ground lopp and how to minimize then in RF domain.

Thanks,

Samy

Re: Ground loop in RF

You should have a full ground plane layer with no traces or slits on it.

Then lay out the circuit just like the schematic with the signal flowing in just one direction. No full circle routs with part of the signal path going left to right and then making a U turn to come back to the left.

Hi Flatulent,

Thanks for your help.
You stated in your previous post: "No full circle routs with part of the signal path going left to right and then making a U turn to come back to the left."
What could be the effects to proceed like this? (Noise coupling?)

Thanks,

Samy

Ground loop in RF

In RF design, have a massive ground plane, connect everything directly to it and don't think of ground loops.

It gets the input and output too close which will cause oscillations.

I used this technique when i made a LNA.

Behaves like a MECA GROUND/Star connection ( not a point but to a plan equipotential)
