Hi!How can I calculate the thin film resistor's power dissipation.For example, for a FET bias using, 0.5V voltage will drop on the resistor and near 100mA current cross it .

This is a simple as Ohm's Law!!!

The power disipated in a resistor is basically the voltage across the resistor multipled by the current through it.

P = IV = 0.5V * 0.1A(100mA) = 0.05Watts (or 50mW)

May be I'm not express my problem exactly. How can I makesure what size of the resistor can sufferable 50mW power dissipation.

When you bought the resistor, what did the shipping package list as its power rating?

en...the thin-film resistor is which I drawing on a Al2O3 sub.usually 50ohm/square ,but I cannt know a "square" resistor can sufferable how much power.
