Hi Jasmine,

Could you let us know what type of power connector you are using?

Thanks.

For a plated hole, if you are having a board manufacturer make this then simply make the correct diameter hole at each end of the slot, then identify this as a plated slot on a fabrication drawing.

Aslo that it is to be plated through & the manufacturer will route this slot out before it goes through the plating line.

Re: punched hole creation

In PPCB 3 slots were supported, I no longer have V3 installed but here is an extract from the help file for V5

Go to Help, search and enter the terms [ slotted holes ]

####################################
You can create slotted holes using the Query/Modify Pad Stacks dialog box or the Query/Modify Pad Stack for Pins dialog box. Slotted holes have orientation and offset properties, but have the same unit and range as the associated pad's orientation and offset. You can use slotted holes with only round, square, oval, or rectangular pad shapes. Therefore, you can only define slotted holes for component pins. All pads in the pad stack should be oval or rectangular; the pad shape is checked on the mounted side. You can also create a thermal or antipad definition for slotted holes.

Control the line width for slotted holes using Line Width in the Drill Drawing Options dialog box.
For more information on slotted holes, including information on how to use them in CAM350, see the "Using Slotted Holes in CAM350" topic in the "Designing" chapter of the PowerPCB Concepts Guide.
See "To Create Slotted Holes in Decals" and "To Create Slotted Holes in Pins" for more information.
