proteus initial contents of eeprom

Hi there,

I'm simulating a 16F877 and 24LC128 in proteus 6.I would like to put a binary file into 24LC128 and read it back with 877 .I choose "initial contents of memory" and point a file then i want to read it back, every byte is -1.I'm putting a file that contains "ABCDEFGHIJKL" and its length is 12 bytes long.So why cant i get these 12 chars? What am i doing wrong?

proteus simulation for external ram

Try to erase .pwi file. It contains the EEPROM image during simulation.

external eeprom simulation in proteus

Are you sure you are loading a binary file (and not a hex file for example) ?

V6.3 allows loading of Intel & Motorola HEX into ROM/RAM models which saves a lot of grief.

Also, the I2C mems have loads of debugging options - try turning them all on and see what you get on the simulation log.
