ln298 full bridge driver application

hi..i wud like to learn abt ln298 and how to use it to control motors for my sounds controlled car project...i'm using lpc2138 mcu..so any info abt this mcu with ln298 will be greatly appreciated...thnx alot guys..

l298n+1n4007+dc motor

L298 are full bridge drivers or commonly known as H-Bridge. Now H-Bridge is a configuration to control load (say a motor) in both the directions. Means you can change the direction of the current through your load. I have post a very simply circuit and can be easily plugged with your MCU.

Two Bit A and B are the control signals. Connect the A B to MCU I/O port. Table shows the binary data from MCU and its control. Motor Current should not be more than 2 amperes...

My advice is to use small DC motor from printers, fax machines etc.

4 Diode (1N4007) are used as free wheeling. It protects the L298 from inductive spikes produce by motor since L298 has no internal spike protection

ln298 diagram

Hai....

I've followed the exact same diagram as u have shown above for controlling a DC motor with the L298HN.

I'm getting a voltage 0f 12V(wrt GND) on one O/p pin and 1V on other.
But my DC(geared 12Vrated) motor is not rotating a bit...

Also my motor works fine wen provided even 3.5 volt from any battery supply...

The motor works wen i connect one lead to the 12V o/p and other to ground....But it isnt working wen i connect the motors leads across O/p of the L298HN
(The L298HN was only recently sampled directly from ST ...so i dont think the chip is the prob)

Can u get a soln for me??

Can anyone pls help me here???
I need a quick soln...too :(
