should i quit my job phd

Hi Friends,

I am an analog design engineer with almost 5 years of experience, with a BS in electronics. I want to know if I go for MS or PhD now... how shall it be affecting my career.

Will those (MS/PhD one) years be counted towards my experience... Will it be a right decision to quit my job (with a US MNC) and go further for studies.

Please give ur inputs I am confused.

part time ms/phd in electronics

I think u shud go for it... atleast MS

hi,

this was the case for me in the year 2005, i decided to go for MS degree, finished last year, now i am Post Graduate............. planning for Part time PhD

you will be researcher in MS/PhD with more number of papers published, more knowledge, more and more research work................ its really good to join

your MS degree is not counted as experience, but the PhD research work
you can also try with part time MS...... but Full time MS is always recommended

with best regards
Chandre gowda

so u did a full time MS ... from where?

i would go for ms but not phd. people with phd i think are usually overqualified...it is hard for them to find the job. it would be even better if you can go for the ms while working and get your employer pay for it...good luck

Not necessary..
The only thing you should do is to gain more exprience..
That's it..Because the companies valorize the gained exprience rather than academic base because of "bullshit talks, money walks.. "
I have B.Sc. and I can apply wherever I wish with my strong background and exprience.

Yes... I TOO belive that MS/PHd ... one should do with Job... So Company bears ur cost....

M doin Mtech In telecommunication... Nd planning For PHd... But not on My own Expenses.... I already with TCS

I agree with bigboss.
Also according to my friends experience I have come to know that in USA MS person get more money than PhD.
So if your priority is money than research then go for MS.

Hi Konarkk I really wonder TCS is that much supportive!!!
Where r u planning for PhD?
