hello:
I am working in hfss v9 designing ridged wave guide(circular D 3.5 cm) I have a problem with ridge dimensions and excitation through coax probe...is that

1- ridges are isolated from the wg walls or touch them.????
2-inner connector is connected to one ridge and the outer shell to the second ridge.???

any one have documents about ridged wg analysis or calculation please help me in this side or e-mail(haz77@maktoob.com)

thanks.

Re: hello

Hi,

I can only tell about HFSS V11, but my guess would be that you haven't set any conductivity condition on the shield, which causes most of the energy to leak instead of feeding the ridges. You don't have to design the outer shell, only the pin and the dielectric ; the boundary condition on the outer surface of the dielectric holds for the outer conductor model...
Huuuh, was I clear ???

Cheers ++

hello

btw, next time you post, use right title for the thread, you'll get much better response.

Sorry but I'm eager to know what makes my response "bad", cause I can't see any mistake in what I said !? :?:

hello

By much better response, I meant a lot more people would open the post and look at it, so much more replies then one. and I believe more responses will certainly throw in more ideas.
