Graphics on Char LCD?

Can i somehow use a character LCD to display graphics? Like i wanna change font of LCD or Display an emoticon?
 

use special function ram of your display. it allows you to make custom objects using pixel manipulation.

How do i do that? i have D0-D7 data and Some control pins at LCD...?
 

The display contróller datasheet should be consulted at least! It's probably a HD44780 compatible controller, the datasheet is around the corner at the internet, also present at EDAboard most likely.

User character generator is limited to 8 characters however, but it's good for a lot of options.

You Can Paint Your New Character and Put the Generated Code to your Program .
