I am in need of an antenna which should work for frequency ranges of 1GHz to 12 GHz. and in both linear and circular polarization.

pls identify the same.

Re: Wide band antenna

A number of antennas come to mind:

Crossed log periodic array

Sinuous spiral

Crossed exponential slot (Vivaldi)

1 to 12 GHz is a relatively friendly band and I would not anticipate serious problems with getting something working.

If slant linear polarization will work for you the task is even easier. You might get lucky and find a commercial antenna that will work for your application
