pci slot pinout

hi,
i want connect an internal PC modem to AVR but i don't know how, i don't know RX and TX and VCC and GND on slot????

If you are talking of a usual notebook modem, they have a PCI bus interface (as the designation tells) and no serial interface. You can try to identify a manufacturer and get a data sheet. Most likely there are some kinds of standard pinouts, but I'm not aware of.

modem pci pin configuration

thank you for your reply, but i wana use internl PC modems that i think those modems have serial interface (TX,RX), a general COM deriver can link to internal modem so those bus is RS-232 i think..:|

29 pin pci modem

I suggest to examine the resource informations in a notebooks control panel hardware section. It most likely identifies the modem as a dedicated PCI device with respective addresses. But even it shows legacy UART I/O addresses, this doesn't imply a hardware RxD/TxD. The modem IC instead is providing a standard UART register interface. Alternatively, a software modem can provide a virtual COM port through a system driver.

Generally, all Mini PCI cards are using a defined hardware interface, there's no room for a serial connection. **broken link removed**
