difference between 16f877 and 16f877a

i just want to know the difference between 16F877A & 16F877? and 16F84A & 16F84?

main difference between 16f877 and 16f877a

anamakachamanene is right.:D , but I want to add something.

As I know, there is a difference in the implementation of writing and erasing the flash memory. in PIC16F877, the flash memory is written and erased byte by byte, while in PIC16F877A is written and erased in chunks of 4 bytes. Whats the consequence of this difference? The programming algorithm implemented by a programmer should be different. That's why if you have a programmer that supports only PIC16F877 you will definitely can not program PIC16F877A with that programmer.

One more thing: in the 877A two analog comparators with multiplexed inputs have been added and a programmable reference voltage for the comparators is provided.

About F84A and F84 they are essentially the same, but some 84A can run at 20MHz maximum clock (84 have 10MHz max clock). 84 uses up to 6V Vdd and 84A up to 5.5V Vdd. Some specifications about the logic levels in the I/O ports are different between the two models.

what is the difference between 16f84a and 16f877a

I think M!k has given the best advice!:D
