lm1871

I wanted to build RF Transmitter and receiver using LM1871,72 ICs....i have read all the data from the datasheet but i am unbale to understand how to make the tuning coils...and transformers....as no specific inductance value is written in datasheet

transmitter and receiver ic[s]

Hey!
first of all thoes IC's are now obsolete. They are basically encoder-decoder chips. you can have a look at ace r/c transmiter and receiver schematics as the have designs for simpler encoders and decoders. About the coils, what frequency are u looking at? you can easily wind coils, I use old 7mm cores that i took out of radio sets and wind them for the desired freq using an lc meter.

rf transmitter and receiver ics

Hi Radio Freak thanks for the help....but the problem is that i dont have an LCR meter...can you suggest me any link where i can find the desired info regarding coil and transformer winding.

Added after 1 minutes:

can you refer any RF IC number.

rf encoder copy code

Hi,
I built the lc meter from this link, its very cheap and acurate https://www.electronics-diy.com/lc_meter.php About the coils, I use 7mm formers from old coils taken from scrap electronics and some magnet wire from old transformers and then check the value using the lc meter. If coils are a problem i use fixed inductors and variable capacitors. I dont kno of any RF ic'c and the ones u mentioned are not rf ic's but only encoders and decoders. I build my own rf sections using discreet components.

Do you have the code for MCU in LCR meter....i am unable to find the code on the link

lm1871 datasheet

For some reason the web page has been updated and the link to the code is no longer there. However I will send u a copy of the code just provide me with your e-mail.

building a radio receiver from ics

ill forward the code to u and I use the modified version of jdm programmer to burn the code into the pic chip.

Hi, guys, I'm new here. But the goal is same. I also want to make a RX-TX pair with those chips. but problem is that i don't have LC meter. i did managed to find the DIY LC meter circuits but no hex code there. if you have the codes, can u help me out?? lc meter is from page..

wish you well.

here you can get quite the same lc meter, but with the source code which should help a lot to build it !
