Hi,

I'm working in a project of a high-power combiner at HFSS.

The ports are exitated by powers and a I made the simulation in "Driven Terminal"

But, when I try to Edit Source (to set the excitations, I need to set 2 ports of 25kW) I need to set the excitation in Volts. It's right? I'd like to set in Watts, in power!

And I'd like to view the loss by heat, to study the heat dissipation in the combiner.
How can i do this?

Thanks!

Hi

if you have 50 ohm ports then you can apply the corresponding voltage that gives you 25kW or whatever power you want.

25 kW correspond to 1.58 kV-peak or 1.11 kV-effective.

Regards

hi,
i think if you want to set in watts, you should set solution type as “driven modal".

Ok,

I didn't undertand how I can calculete de Voltage for a 25kW power in a 50Ω transmission line.

has Someone alreay worked with heat loss in high power combiners, projected haletas to dissipate the heat?
