1.Principles of Communications-Fundamentals through Advanced by Wayne Tomasi.
2.Modern Analog and Digital Communications by B.P.Lathi
3.Analog and Digital Communications by Simon Haykin.

there is this book "communications" written by "carlson". it is a good one on analog communications. you can use "digital communicatiion" by proakis for digital communications. it is a very thorough book though. maybe you can use analog and digital communications written by schanmugam.
