powerlogic pads

Hi all,

Here is the scenario: I've modified the B sheet template (i.e. deleted COMPANY and ECO text areas) and I was wondering if it is possible to somehow set it as a default, when I add a NEW sheet that standard template is part of the new sheet (i.e it has ECO and COMPANY; stuff I do not want).

Is there a User's Guide and Tutorial booklet somehwere on PowerLogic and PowerPCB (yes there are tutorials that come the products, I'm looking for stuff that is more in depth like my question above).

pads powerlogic

Do not know any other books or tutorials availabe other than from the pads training courses but the users on the pads list server are very helpful, have you tried them?

Also, I think you you will already know, but i will mention it anyway, that the default parameters for the workspace are contained in the default.txt file where you can also set the default sheet?

In PowerPCB , it's possible to set the "start-up file". Create a start-up file and then use "save-as"..
For PowerLogic , I guess it's not possible.

powerlogic default sheet

Hi Jayson
you can do this. If you modified sheet template you must save him to library. Select sheet template make Combine. In menu Drafting -> Save to Library->select sheet and save it. Now when you add new sheet everything will be O.K.

Hi j2356r,
Can you point me to where that "pads list server" is available ?
Is it a 'newsgroup' ?
cheers - roli

powerlogic newsgroups

Hi Roli

https://www.mentor.com/pads/forum.html

Cn do email list server or newsgroups, what ever method you like best. But I always found these mail list servers use newgroup plugins and sometimes they are unreliable but at least give threaded views.

As a user resource this is a pretty good one as mentor will participate in it. Some of the threads spill over to www.pcbstandards.com for polls, votes, downloads and all stuff like that.

pads powerlogic guide

Hi jayson,
I think that you can do this:select all you wanted--right click and "make group"--cope to file ,then you can save it as a *.grp file. Next time when you want to use it, on the new sheet you just right click and "add items"--paste from file, then you select the file you saved.
