microwaves, march 1966

Dear all,
I need equations and directions, papers, etc. for designing hard horn antennas for quasi-optical applications. I need a hard horn to illuminate a quasi optical-amplifier. In order to do that, I need a quite flat wave front at the horn aperture in near field. I read this kinda horn have corrugations and dielectric slabs along internal walls. The problem is I haven't found any valuable work or paper that expains in a detailed way how to design the horn and that provides design equations.
I would be very pleased if someone of you can provide me of information and stuff for hard horn design. I need it urgently. :p So if someone knows or is able to help me, please let me know.

Thanks in advance,

Ivan.

try this reference:

Corrugated Horns for Microwave Antennas (Ieee Electromagnetic Waves Series) by P. J. B. Clarricotes

If you are thinking of a pyramidal horn you would have a hard time finding an antenna book that does not discuss how to build them.

IEEE TAP will have 100's of references.

Yes, it is a pyramidal horn. Don't u know any free document in the internet which reports a detailed description of hard horns design? Actually, I dont' have enough time to order the book and I saw that is a bit expensive too. I saw that many works related to quasi-optical grids use hard horns to generate the input wave and to get the reradiated orthogonal wave in output but there's no satisfactory explanation of how they design the horn.

Tnx.

Added after 1 minutes:

PS--> Any link to download the pdf of the book from?

"Microwaves" March 1966 published a set of horn design tables that are useful for the design of horn antennas.

IEEE Antennas and Propagation Magazine, vol 42 no 5 Oct 2000 has an article, Scales for rectangular Horns by Tom Milligan that you may find helpful.

I do not have e-copies of any of these references. You may have to resort to sending cash. I hate it when that happens.
