HSPICE and ADS

Hi

Is it possible to simulate one circuit with exactly the same libraries in ADS and HSPICE and get two different answer? (the answer are close though)

HSPICE and ADS

if you use this two tools to simulate the bandgap, the value is different, i think.

Re: HSPICE and ADS

It is not sensible, is it?

Re: HSPICE and ADS

Hello Sadegh.j,

There are couple of things to note...
1. It depends upon the type & kind of design you are simulating Linear or Nonlinear Circuit ? yes it may show little diffrence in handling nonlinear circuits in Frequency & time domain simulators...
2. Since ADS is basically Frequency domain Harmonic Balance simulations & HSPICE is a transient time domain solver when you use similar circuit on both the tools yes it may show different answers because of approximations but it should be in the lower limits...

If models are fully characterized & verified for both the solver domains then I think you won't find much difference in the output results...

If you try using AWR Microwave Office or Analog Office with HSPICE then I think you can understand more simulation analysis as this tool does not use any controls on schematic design to simulate in Frequency & transient analysis...One schematic is enough to get different simulators results...Try it
