sound sensor

i want some details of sensors. about their working principles.

first, can anybody let me help to get details of what kind of sensors are available in market?.

In electronics terms,

1. Vibration Sensors?.
2. Sound Sensors?.
3. Temperature Sensors?.
4. Motion Sensors
5. Vision Sensors?.

like, basically , RTD, thermocouple, thermistor etc are called as an temperature sensors. so what are the examples of others?..thats i want to know............

also i want to know the working principle of each sensor type. so i can understand at what condition, which kind of sensors can be used.

Wow...you want people to write the whole book here?

Yea kid, try wikipedia.

Vibration sensor can use an accelerometer or a vibration sensor...the name is vibration sensor.

Sound sensor, just use a mic.

Motion sensor, you can use ultrasonic motion detector, IR motion detector, or even a CCD base motion detector.

Vision sensor, use a CCD, CMOS sensor, or any other optoelectronic sensor.
