Hi,

Can anyone tell me how can we match impedance of a T section Before the T point formation?

sandhya

R u talking about the termination resistor or varying the trace width to match the impedance?

I am routing a address line A0. It comes from the processor and connected to 2 DDR2 modules.i am following star topology. So I scheduled nets and formed a T junction. Now what i have to do is to match the length to each of the DDR2 modules. So what could be done to match the entire T connection.
Pls reply
sandhya

route the two trace from the T-juntion to the two dimms with equal length and also route them in same layer to maintain same delay..

excuse me,
i understand that it 's single Trace AO goes to Two pins ..so why T junction?
why not make diz chain? i.e this trace goes to the first pin then from this pin route another trace to the second pin

You may need to use serial terminations and also must match the trace length
