ber qpsk

hello all...im a little bit confuse..

im doing a simulation to investigate the ber for bpsk and qpsk over awgn channel. i generate 1024 bits for this simulation, both for bpsk and qpsk case.theoretically both ber for qpsk and bpsk is the same (refering to the equation pe=1/2erfc(sqrt(eb/no)). in this simulation ber for qpsk will be half of ber for bpsk since im using 1024bits=512 symbols of qpsk.this is right isnt it?

is this a good simulation method to compare the ber for bpsk and qpsk?or should i 2048bits for the qpsk simulation to prove the equation.

thanks!!

qpsk ber

The BER for QPSK and BPSK should be equal, right? So your simulation should show that.

the _symbol_ error rate (1 symbol = 2 bits for QPSK; 1 symbol = 1 bit for BPSK) will be different, but the bit errors should match. Note that one bit error or 2 bit errors will be one symbol error for QPSK.

Dear friends
I have a problem in dealing with AWGN block in Simulink , when choose to work with EbNo option , how can i choose thhe power, if iam using QAM16 and i configure it as min distance between 2 symbols is 2 , what is the effect of that on AWGN Block.my system is only binary source, block to combin bits in form of 4 bits ,then QAM16 , noise , QAM16 Demodulator.
waiting your reply
