Hi !
I need info abaout PCB low power antennas. Like those in car alarm systems.
I would like to know it its some tool for the simulation of these antennas.

Thanks

Hi,

Ansoft Designer is good in PCB planar antennas. Also CST Mircowave Studio, IE3D or FEKO. What frequecy are you looking at? What exactly is your application?

With more information, maybe this eboard forum can help you design one quite quickly. :)

Cheers,

I'm looking for some papers about Vivaldi antenna..I work on patch antennas and I'm just curious.
Can anyone help me?

Thanks in advance

we need an antenna freq.=13.56M, to make it
on PCB with Cu line, The L=3.5uH. how to select
the turns of the spiral inductor antenna?
thanks a lot.!

Hi,

For 13.56 MHz RFID antenna design, look for the following appnotes from Microchip:

AN678 RFID Coil Design
AN710 Antenna Circuit Design for RFID Applications

You have in these articles relations about designing the nr of turns of the antenna coil.

Also there a practical example on the Sonnet website, which can be simulated using Sonnet Lite (it's free )

Just a question how can you determine the power capabilty of a pcb type antenna ( say in vhf or uhf range ) if anyone have a formula thanks

I have a similar question.
I want to know how I can simulate power handling of a panar structure for examle a coupler?.

A good practicle book about printed antenna is "CAD of Microstrip Antennas for Wireless Applications" by Robert A. Sainati.

pcb coil antenna design 13.56

to search some RFID product sheet, there is some information about pcb antenna.
In fact, the pcb antenna is microsrip antenna.

In this depends on the distance of the RFID system and the power transmitted from the reader. If the distance is short, then less power and less number of turn can do the job. For a long distance, then higher power and more turns may be required. More over, the shape (design) of the tag antennas also affect this. So basically, you need to consider many factors in order to determine the number of turn and tranmitted power from the reader.
