Need suggestion for PhD topic...MIMO, MIMO-OFDM, OFDMA

Hi Guys,
I am new here. I wanna ask for your opinion about PhD Topic. I am planning to do PhD soon in wireless communication and I am interested in researching on MIMO. Do you guys have any suggestion on the topic which is hot for now. any hot topic or area which a lot of people are researching??? (e.g. mimo , ofdm, mimo-ofdm, ofdma, beamforming technologies , 3GPP LTE, WiMax, mimo for wimax, mimo for 3gpp LTE...blah blah blah) I will prefer to work on MATLAB. However now I am hesitant what topic I should do.

I have to write the proposal for what I plan to do for the whole course ( about 4 years). It's just the rough idea what I will do. Do you have a good sample of proposal in this area? Could you suggest me what to write as well. So I can have some idea and write my own proposal to be able to apply for PhD.

MIMO relay channel, Cooperative MIMO and MIMO communications with limited feedback are some of the hot topics right now. You also have to decide if you want to go to information theoretical part of mimo or maybe signal processing part of mimo or could be other direction.
